For most of my life, Christianity wasn’t just a belief system — it was my identity. I was baptized in it. I spoke in tongues. I read the Bible cover to cover. I evangelized in AOL chatrooms. And for a long time, I couldn’t imagine a version of myself that didn’t wear the label Christian.

But that label no longer fits.

In this deeply personal episode, I walk through the statement of faith that prompted me to speak plainly — not in anger, but in clarity — about why I no longer identify as Christian.
